Loaded with fruit, this smoothie gives us all the summer feels, nutrients, and fibre, and the addition of the cooled cooked rice assists in lowering its Glycaemic Index while adding a smooth texture and bulk to the formulation. As this is a carbohydrate predominant smoothie, this would make for a great pre-exercise meal 2-3 hours prior. This smoothie could also be divided into ice lolly moulds and frozen, making for a great summer snack around the pool for the whole family.

 250 ml Golden Delight Thai rice (cooked and cooled)
 2 bananas, peeled and sliced
 250 ml milk chilled
 250 ml ice water
 250 ml frozen mango chunks
 375 ml frozen pineapple chunks
 30 ml passion fruit pulp
 15 ml honey

Blend all ingredients together until smooth.

Tip: You can pre portion your fruit for your smoothies to make the breakfast prep easier. Purchase what is in season and on special and prepare combinations that you enjoy. Berries can be added, but they will change the colour of your smoothie.
